We are a home improvement contractor serving the Charlotte, NC greater area, but we have done some jobs at greater distances. Exterior painting is work that we take seriously, since the coatings will be exposed to elements (hot, cold, humidity, moisture, frost, insects, ..) and expansion/contraction movement. The goal is to make it last for a long time. Painting a brick is another name of the game, where the brick mortar joint is alkaline and need to be etched with muriatic acid, so the block primer can adhere strongly to it. The primer needs 48 hours cure time before paint coat. Cedar was  stained with PPG Proluxe Exterior wood finish and under the porch ceiling (Sikkens brand), while for the brick we used Loxon block filler primer.
